One Way Only (1981) aka Dan cheng lu

Acclaimed actor Danny Lee, known for his role in john Woo’s The Killer, has his directing debut in One Way Only, a Hong Kong Easy Rider, where the road and motorbikes are symbols of freedom against government oppression, which Jack Kerouac’s sees as a way of discovering oneself. Li plays a motorbike workshop owner that although injured during an illegal motorcycle race, continues to race regardless of the physical consequences and the law, because the road rules all.

And Now What’s Your Name (1984) aka Xian sheng gui xing

Kenny Bee plays a free lance photographer. Although he is a nice guy, his lack of ability to assert himself decisively causes him to drift from one woman to another. He meets three women of first is a concubine of a millionaire. He circulates around the wealthy set in Hong Kong by accompanying her. He wants to go steady with her, but she has other ideas. He then meets a club hostess. She’s serious about him but he’s not. Then he meets a daughter of a millionaire who calls all her boyfriends “Simon”, so he’s introduced to everyone as “Simon”. This relationship doesn’t last long either. In the end he’s the one who is alone by himself due to his indecisive behavior. The subplot of the movie is the way people take advantage of each other, and how Kenny’s character gets caught in their play.

Dumplings (2004) aka Jiao zi

In Hong Kong, Aunt Mei is a cook famous for her home-made rejuvenation dumplings, based on a millenarian recipe prepared with a mysterious ingredient that she brings directly from China. The former TV star Mrs. Li visits Mei aiming her dumplings to recover her youth and become attractive again to her wolf husband Mr. Li. Along the sessions, Mei tells Mrs. Li that she was a gynecologist in China with more than 30,000 abortions along ten years. When Mrs. Li requests an acceleration of the process, the opportunity comes when a fifteen years old teenager with a five months incestuous pregnancy comes with her mother and asks Mei to make an abortion.
